For the twitter brand assignment we had to follow five of our favorite brands and attempt to get them to respond to us. My favorite 5 brands were: Stila cosmetics, Kleinfeild Bridal, VS PINK, Dunkin' Donuts, and the Red Dress Boutique. I tried to pick 5 brands that i would use everyday, but were also different from each other. Obviously I couldn't use Kleinfeild Bridal everyday because those are wedding gowns, but i do watch the show "Say Yes to the Dress" almost religiously. Now only one of the five brands responded to me, and that was Stila Cosmetics. Although, a couple of the brands "favorited" my tweet, they did not respond to them. On the tweet the Stila replied to, they also retweeted the tweet. So then all of their followers started to favorite the tweet and some of them even replied agreeing with my tweet! This all happened within a matter of minutes after Stila Cosmetics retweeted my tweet. I think most brands on twitter use it to regulate the amount of bad service their customers receive from their brand. For example I tweeted on my non school account about this website where i ordered bathing suits from and complained on how it had been three weeks since i placed my order. Within 5 minutes they responded to me on twitter asking me to send them my package information so they could send me my package. Although my package wasn't sent for another 3 weeks they still tried to control how the media saw their companies performance. Another time I tweeted PapaJohns because my pizza was thirty minutes late and they emailed me two free pizza coupons in the mail! Also, Twitter beef between major corporations on twitter has been one of the more hot topics on twitter most recently.
