Valentines day genre conventions are the same old same old every year regarding the style and design of the holiday. The style of Valentines day is red and pink mostly with some roses thrown in here and there. Design is everything heart shaped and I mean everything balloons, chocolates, and even pizzas(my favorite). A list of things that come to mind when I think of Valentines Day is chocolate, candy, flowers, balloons, food, love, and those little Valentines we used to exchange in second and third grade with the different candy or toys on them. The movie Valentines Day starring some of the biggest actors like Jessica Alba, Anne Hathaway, and Julia Roberts is the perfect example of pop culture for the holiday. It both promotes the traditional Valentines day rituals and contrasts them through different scenarios in the movie. In one scene they have a couple so in love with each other giving flowers and making up, and then in another scene there is an Anti Valentines Day party where they celebrate being single and have a heart pinata. It really does a grand job of demonstrating the different moods of Valentines day. The movie has couples making up, breaking up, and people who were single for Valentines Day.
